Come to my Christmas Party on January 25th
I received a ridiculous letter this morning from the garage I bought my car from. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of buying from a main dealer but hey ho...

Fair enough, you might think. Anyway, here's a quote from said attached letter, from Cyril Cigar-Chomper no less:
As a loyal customer of Big Garage I would like to invite you to this exclusive event being held at all of our Big Garage dealerships from 19th - 30th September 2008.
OK, so you want me to come to your event, which finished the day before you wrote the invite. Cheers!

Thunderstorms are Great!
- Is it the anticipation as the weather builds up?
- Is it the excitement as lightning slices through the air
- Is it the noise as the white-hot spark rents the air in two, creating a thunderous boom of epic proportions?

A baby Robin visits
So there we were, happily sitting just inside the patio doors of the hotel room, when this little fellow strolled up. We watched as s/he (can you tell the difference?) pecked around for a bit and chirruped about the place. It had not long stopped raining when s/he appeared as the sun came through.
Red Cabbage and bingo
Repost from Tuesday, June 03, 2008, 9:08pm
After another damp day we spent the day looking at the wildlife that was tame enough to approach the open patio door to the room. Squirrels, a chaffinch, a baby robin and 2 magpies all came looking. Pictures will follow on my return.
I am blogging live from the pavilion where the band is currently doing Lennon's Imagine justice. Later there'll be a comic, who i'll talk about later. Meanwhile, more gin has arrived, so i must continue to test it.
Dampness Abounds
Repost from Tuesday, June 03, 2008, 7:20am
Contrary to earlier forecasts, the rain is falling steadily. Hopefully by lunchtime it'll clear. My room has a patio with a harbour view and I hope to sit out there once the sun comes out. Anyway, last night's caberet. The resident entertainers provided a worthwhile selection of fifties and sixties songs. The band played well and the lead singer's confident renditions and flashes of wit proved successful. The dancers' energetic routines added sparkle to the whole thing. As always i greatly admire how hard they work to provide a show which has to cater for many tastes. All of them gathered at the exit to bid everyone goodnight as we left- a nice touch.
Holiday Time -
So, the first day of the knock-a-holiday has come to an end.
We arrived down here at Hayling Island at 3.15. Our rooms were ready for us and our luggage was brought up quickly. Once we had rested, it was time to sample the keyboard stylings of a chap called Ricky James before moving through to the restaurant for dinner. Tonight I enjoyed Broccoli and Cauliflower soup then Beef in Black bean sauce followed by ginger ice cream. Unfortunately too much beer prevents me from writing more at the moment. Tomorrow I will try to post about the show we saw at the cabaret tonight. But for now... Bed!
